Sorry for your loss. Though you are going through a painful time, always know that you guys were awesome in caring for your Father/Father-In-Law. You truly loved and cared for him. Lamont Moore, Sr. (Moe) age 75 years of Gary, Indiana departed this earthly life on January 13, 2026, surrounded by his lovely family.
Lamont was born to Amanda and John L. Moore in Youngstown, Ohio on April 26, 1950, and reared at home by Amanda and Theodore Pappachristor.
Lamont attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from East High School, class of 1968. Lamont was an avid Basketball Player and a member of the 1968 East High School Championship Basketball Team. Lamont moved to Gary, Indiana in 1974 and worked in several capacities with Southside Hospital, Household Finance, General Finance, Goodyear and Firestone.
Lamont is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Barbara Ann Moore; parents, Amanda Pappachristor, John L. Moore and Theodore Pappachristor; siblings: C.W Tubbs, Katie L. Roland, Mary L. Figueroa and Linda D. Gurley all of Youngtown; nephew, Osvaldo Figueroa; niece, LaTanya Gurley and great nephew, JaRon Roland.
Lamont leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Lamont (Candice) Moore, Jr. of Tampa, Florida and Louis (Pamela) Conyer of Gary, Indiana. three granddaughters: Reyiana LaMón Moore, LaMya Renee'Moore, and Jasmine Lynette Moore all of Tampa, Florida; brother Theodore Moore (Rhoda) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister, Lecia M. Chatman of Columbus, Ohio; special niece, LaDonna Tubbs of Youngstown, Ohio; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lamont will be truly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Youngstown, Ohio.
