Lamonte Wilburn Simpson, age 63, of Avon Park, Florida, went to be with his Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born on July 31, 1962, in Moultrie, Georgia to his loving parents Charles and Wanda Simpson (Presley). Lamonte spent his life educating middle school children for over twenty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and anything that involved being outdoors. He was a hard-working family man, and a man of honor and faith. He served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in passing by His Father, Charles Simpson, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Simpson, children Clara and Kyle Simpson – Sebring, FL, and brothers; Charles David Simpson, Jr, and Lamar Velpo Simpson – Avon Park, FL.
Lamonte touched the lives of countless people through his acts of kindness, service, and education. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and will be fondly remembered and missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Florida Avenue Baptist Church in Avon Park, FL.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 4, at Florida Ave. Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m., Family will begin receiving friends at 10 a.m. Lamonte will be interred in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
