I luv u brother..tha first man i laid eyes on after i was born... tha one I could only b my self n nt feel ashamed... my heart is overwhelmed with losing u so soon... Can't believe this my emotions yet to realize tha reality... thank u for introducing my to all crazy in life.. n laughing harder than I when I got to talking crazy n cheering me on once i got started.... our craziness n fishing trips will keep u rt here n my heart... luv u big brother...

Larry's Obituary

Larry was born in Kilgore, Texas to the late Fannie L. Alex and Aaron Rossum on June 29, 1959. Larry departed this earthly life on December 11, 2025 in Mesa, Arizona. 

Larry received his education in Kilgore, TX, receiving a degree in Corrosion Technology. Larry worked for the oil industry for over 20 years. He retired with the city of Mesa, AZ in 2004 when he suffered a life altering medical disability. 

Larry was married to Carolyn Alex. They wed in 1993 and had been married for 32 years at the time of his death. Larry and Carolyn had three sons (Larry Jr., Jared and Bryce). Larry was devoted to his three sons and wife. He loved them all heartedly. His past time/favorite thing to do was to fish and spend time with his dog Silver. Larry had the biggest spirit that most people wish they had. He always had a smile on his face. He would say ‘I'm just glad God woke me up this morning.’ Larry leaves to honor his life his wife Carolyn Alex. His children Larry D. Alex Jr. (Selina) Mesa AZ, Jared H. Alex Mesa AZ and Bryce J. Alex Mesa, AZ. His sister in-law Delphine Smith (Kenneth) Cathedral City, CA: his sisters Glory Cobb (Lou) Ocala, FL: Grace Smith, Longview, TX: Vickie Polk, Hallsville, TX and brother Eugene Alex, Kilgore, TX. Sister-in-law Paris Jackson: brother-in-law Victor Lewis and a host of nieces and nephews, who he truly loved.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Palo Verde Cemetery.
