Not sure what to say?

Larry was a good neighbor and friend. He was a positive voice for ‘Herington’ and proud supporter of the events, activities and goings on of the community. Sending caring thoughts, love and prayers for the family.

So sorry to hear about Larry, he was the nicest man. Sure enjoyed seeing him and visiting with him in Herington. He was a great editor of the Times. He will be missed. Prayers to all his family.

Growing up in Herington in the 70s and 80s you can't help but think of Larry Byers and the Herington times. Ive already been missing his comments in various FB groups on Herington events past and present. Was there, I wonder, anyone "more Herington" than Larry Byers? Condolences to the family.

From the cab of a locomotive I saw this man many times over the years along the right of way in various places taking pictures of the train I was pulling. Found out recently that he rode a caboose with me in the early 70’s between Wagstaff and Paola when I was a young conductor. He contributed many great pictures to the Missouri Pacific Fanpage and recorded history as the Missouri Pacific faded away. He was a man of vision. He will live on in the pictures he took. May the Peace of the Lord be...

Larry arrived at Herington a few months after I was transferred to Herington as a Rock Island Special Agent and Larry retired about a year after I did. Larry had a deep love and passion for the RR and we became very close friends. I have so many precious memories of Larry and share your grief and sorry. May Deanna and family find peace, love and comfort in a life well lived and may the Good Lord always bless you.

Larry was a wonderful, caring person, and a terrific community publisher. I had the honor of working with him on many committees and the KPA board. After he and Deanna moved to Gardner, he would stop in to visit, submit a photo, talk "shop," or offer advice. The world needs more Larry's. He will be missed. God Bless.

Very sad to hear this. Knew Larry from growing up in Osawatomie. He was always very kind to me, a shy, skimpy little redhead girl.

May God comfort all of Larry’s family in this time of sorrow. We always appreciated Larry’s positive attitude, his love for his family and Osawatomie and proud to call him a close friend!

I am so terribly sorry to hear this. Larry was a wonderful, thoughtful man. He will be missed by many.
