Larry “Big” Guice was born on April 30, 1957 to Lula Guice and Johnnie Lee Guice. He was born in Hinds County and attended Carver Elementary School and attended Hinds County AHS in Utica, MS. He worked at Hinds Community College and Mississippi State Hospital for many years. He also was the president of A and G monuments in Raymond Mississippi. Larry enjoyed laughing and having fun. He was the star of the show. He always had something funny to say and most of the time the last word. You couldn’t out talk him or outsmart him. He was a long time member of Old Mount Zion missionary Baptist church in Raymond Mississippi Under the leadership of Rev. Levi Thomas. Larry loved people and his cars. He also had a very special long time friend Evelyn Richmond and wonderful friend and caregiver Peggy Horton and also best friends like brothers Anthony Reed, Jerome Henderson and Leonard Henderson all from Raymond Mississippi.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a son Richard Garrett (Brittany) of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Granddaughter, Rychelle Garrett of Philadelphia, Mississippi.; his devoted mother, Lula Mae Guice of Raymond, Mississippi; brothers, Bernard Guice of Jackson, Mississippi and Andrew Guice of Byram, Mississippi; one sister, Julia Mae Guice of Jackson, Mississippi; a special aunt, Rosie Myles of Chicago, Illinois; two special nephews, Alvin Guice of Jackson Mississippi and Calvin Guice of Pascagoula, Mississippi; three nieces, Lakeelia Donald (Cliff), Tishawn Guice, and Airlon Keys (James) all of Jackson, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lee Guice, brother, Robert James Bell, sister, Annie McCastle; grandson, Richard Lamar Garrett; two aunts, Georgia Guise and Earnestine Marshall.
