MSgt. Larry J. Ivory Sr., U.S.A.F. (RET) ,72, of Merrimack, NH, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2011. He died in his wife's arms, at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, surrounded by his loving family.He was born on October 27, 1939, in Noblesville, Indiana, a son of the late Emery R. (Jim) Ivory and Ethel M. (Cloe) Ivory. Larry was the loving husband of Edna J. (Rowsell) Ivory from Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada, with whom he shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.Mr. Ivory was educated in Noblesville and Brownstown, Indiana. He graduated from Brownstown High School in 1958. Larry was also a graduate from Hesser College with an AAS degree in Business and Daniel Webster College with a BS degree in Business Management.Having served in the Air Force for over 20 years, he lived in many areas of the United States and in other countries. Larry also received numerous awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign clusters, and The Republic of Vietnam (RUA) Campaign Medal, to name a few.After retiring from the USAF, Larry worked in the electronics industry as an electrical/mechanical technician. He worked for Sanders Lockheed Martin, Digital, Benchmark, and retired from Cirtronics Corporation of Milford, NH, in 2007.Mr. Ivory was a member of Bethany Covenant Church. He also supported and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Mr. Ivory was an avid fan of the sports teams in New England. He also loved Bass fishing, and won many awards for different fishing competitions.In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: A daughter, Lisa Ivory, and her children, Tim, Ashley and Amber Whitaker, all of Merrimack, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jr. and Carole (Poulin) Ivory, and their children, Amanda, Andrew, Sabrina, and Alexis, all of Nashua, NH. Also, a brother, Jerry Ivory, and many nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be Friday, December 9, 2011, at Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH from 5-8 PM.The funeral will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, at 10AM. A burial service will follow at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH. A small reception with light refreshments will be held at Bethany Covenant Church in Bedford, NH.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Disabled American Veterans.
