My mind is filled with so many snap shots of that beautiful smiling face. Larry was one of a kind. His humor & precious manner was so sweet & fun to be around. He was the entertainment at 2 of my children's weddings. I really do believe that he was loved by all who knew him. I can see him now reunited with family at grandma's kitchen table enjoying fried apples & biscuits. All my love, Patti & John.

In Loving Memory of Larry Lee WarnockMay 16, 1941 – July 4, 2025Indianapolis, Indiana
With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Larry Lee Warnock, who left this world peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 84.
Larry was born on May 16, 1941, in Ironton, Ohio, where his journey began as the youngest in a tight-knit, hardworking family. From an early age, Larry showed the traits that would define his life—humility, compassion, a sense of humor, and a quiet strength rooted in faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Virgie and Harlan, as well as his brother Weldon and sisters Janet and Christine.
In high school, Larry was well known as a standout basketball player at Portsmouth East High school and was admired for both his athletic ability and sportsmanship. But his talents didn’t end on the court—he was also a gifted musician. Larry played for several years in the local band Cokie and the Tyrones, where his natural charisma and rhythm made him a favorite at every performance. Later in life, he continued sharing his love of music as an enthusiastic Elvis impersonator, delighting friends, family, and community members with his performances.
Above all else, Larry was a man of deep and unwavering faith. He was a devoted member of the Brownsburg Church of Christ, where he found community, purpose, and spiritual strength. His favorite Bible verse, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), reflected the quiet confidence with which he approached both life and adversity. He lived that verse daily—trusting in God’s plan, remaining calm in the storms, and always offering peace to those around him.
Larry was the very definition of a family man. He was the proud and loving husband of Patricia Warnock whom he was married to for 57 years. They shared a beautiful life built on love, laughter, and faith. Together they raised two sons, Jon and Joe and they both were devoted grandparents to Wes, Annelise, Autumn, and Alexis, never missing an opportunity to show up with a smile, a word of encouragement, or a cheering voice from the stands.
He loved singing karaoke, sharing a good laugh, and simply being present with those he cared about. Whether he was telling a joke, singing a classic tune which was mostly Elvis, or watching his grandkids play sports, Larry had a unique ability to make others feel valued and loved.
Those who knew Larry describe him as kind-hearted, compassionate, loyal, and effortlessly funny. He had a way of making people feel at ease, and he never missed a moment to lift someone’s spirits. He touched countless lives with his warmth and wisdom, and the impact of his life will be felt for generations.
Larry’s life will be celebrated through a visitation at Conkle Funeral Home (4925 W. 16th St) in Speedway, IN from 5-8pm, on Tuesday July 8th, 2025 with funeral services the following day Wednesday, July 9th at 11am. Graveside service will be held a few minutes away at Westridge Park Cemetery (9295 W. 21st St, Indpls). Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories, laughter, and prayers as we honor the extraordinary life of a man who gave so much to so many. It is well known that Larry was a die-hard Ohio State fan and so he would most likely stare down on you with a smile if you were inclined to wear any Buckeyes gear or even your favorite Scarlet & Gray attire.
Though we mourn his loss, we rejoice in knowing that Larry is at peace, reunited with loved ones in the presence of the Lord. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the values he passed down, and the love he gave so freely.
