Larry Lester “Skeeter” Elliott, Jr., 60, husband of Estelle Elliott, of Nichols, was called home to be with his Lord during the early hours of Friday, November 10, 2023, at his home with his family by his side, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Skeeter, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was born on April 17, 1963, in Mullins, South Carolina, to the late Larry Lester Elliott and the late Sara Killingsworth Elliott. Skeeter worked for Horry County Schools as an Electrician for 22 years and as a supervisor there for 15 years. Larry was an avid hunter and loved fishing. He was a lifelong member of the Causey Hunting Club. He loved running his dogs. He loved his family and all things good. He was a jokester and loved playing jokes and pranks on people. Larry was a member of Harvest Church and loved his Lord. He was a perfect father and man.
Surviving Skeeter in addition to his wife of the home, Estelle Elliott, are his children: Jessica (Alex) Richardson of Galivants Ferry, Bradly Allen of Nichols, Matthew (Denise) Elliott of Nichols, Brent (Jada) Allen of Nichols, and Allison Elliott of Nichols; the loves of his life, his grandchildren: Tanner Elliott, Eden Richardson, Gavin Richardson, Addylynn Lovett, Zane Allen, Ava Allen, Liam Elliott, Skylar Allen, Chandler Allen, and McKade Manolis; his brother, Keith (Jane) Elliott of Nichols; his sister, Kimberly (Guy Neal) Caines of Loris; his grandmother, Beatrice Killingsworth; and his mother-in-law, Faye Winningham.
Larry was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Robert Elliott.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, November 12, from 6-8 pm at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins.
A funeral service for Skeeter will be held Monday afternoon, November 13 at 2:00 P.M. at Harvest Church, 4619 Highway 9, Green Sea, SC 29545, with Rev. Neal Watson and Rev. Scotty Enzor officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery of Nichols, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
A special “Thank You,” to the staff of Patriot Hospice, especially Shana, Cathy, Tammy, and Cassie, for their love and care they showed Skeeter and his family during this difficult journey.
