Larry's Obituary

LARRY TERZIAN “TORO”

Larry spent the youthful years of his life in Fresno Ca. He was always a good student, and he also always had an intense interest in sports. At Washington Junior High School, Larry was the leadoff hitter and centerfielder on the Baseball team. He was an excellent outfielder and hitter. And, if he got on base, Larry was always an unusual distraction problem for the opposing pitcher with his daring leadoffs from first base. If you played against the Washington Junior High School baseball team in those years, you remembered that aggressive…and… annoying base runner—Larry Terzian.

In high school, Larry continued to do well in the classroom, but now he decided to major in Football. On coach Jack Skadden’s Fresno High School football team, Larry was the starting Right Halfback. He was not a big or an exceptionally fast running back…but he was very difficult to tackle. He had a knack for making tacklers miss! That is why he was always the starting Right Halfback on those Football teams.

As Larry’s youthful athletic skills were unique, and even entertaining, so was his adult personality. Those who knew him well can enthusiastically remember one of his specialties… the surprise “costumes” he adorned on many different occasions. During Larry’s youthful years in Fresno, he made friends with a group of people. And even though Larry eventually settled in the Bay Area, those deep friendships lasted hisentire life.

Larry often traveled to Fresno to visit relatives, and to visit those old friends. Sometimes, it was to celebrate certain events, and other times to be there for support during times of difficulty. He was able to drop whatever he was doing, and he and beloved wife Christine would be in Fresno in less than 3 hours, if he felt one of those support moments had arisen.

Larry Terzian was a “one of a kind” person…. unique talents, unique personality, and unique loyalty. His loyalty to his friends and family was unmatched. To say that he will be greatly missed would be a giant understatement.

Larry passed away on Sunday, October 26th, very peacefully, surrounded by love, after sharing more than 45 wonderful years with the love of his life and wife, Christine. Larry and Christine had a true love story. He woke up happy every day, and his joy filled their home. Larry was a loving, romantic, and deeply caring partner who made every day brighter with his laughter, humor, and kindness. He was a fabulous cook, enthusiastic traveler - he could be talked into any trip with just a little persuasion. He was also a devoted and talented business partner. Larry had a natural warmth that drew people into him; his zest for life touched everyone who knew him.

He was a devoted stepfather to Scott Pastorino, guiding with a rare sensitivity and instinct that made him a natural in that delicate role. Larry’s love for family extended to Scott’s wife, Mary, and his cherished granddaughters, Kate Isabella and Morgan Lorraine, who brought him endless pride and joy. Larry is also survived by his sister, Candy Kukandall, her husband, Mike; his nephew, Michael; and his niece, Birkley Stark. Sister Terri Lawler, her husband Matt, and nephews Michael, Mark, and Brian. Sister Sharon Row.

A celebration of Larry’s life is being planned for 2026.

I will miss you forever, my love. I’ll see you on the other side.
