Not sure what to say?

Allen and family, we are deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I'm fortunate to have many wonderful memories of times past with our families. I've always enjoyed Laurette's company, her joy was so present in her voice and smile. She set a great example for our children and others. May she rest in the peace of God. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the unique privilege of traveling with Laurette and our friend Ann , to Italy !! It was an amazing trip and one I will never forget!! Laurette's knowledge of the country helped us have a trip of a lifetime as we explored Rome and then the countryside of this incredible place !! I am grateful that I was able to get to know Laurette in her "element " , sharing her wonderful knowledge of one of her favorite places in the world!!
May you rest in peace Laurette

Grateful to have had the chance to spend some time with Laurette. We will always remember her infectious positive energy she always brought to the group. Our family will always strive to be more like Laurette and celebrate every day. Condolences to the family and friends for the loss and may Laurette rest in peace; keep guiding us all to “not sweat the small stuff”

Annabelle's Birthday

Laurette had that rare human quality of brightening any room and occasion. She had a profound ability to immediately create special engagement, remembering details about your life and past conversations. She was the one you gravitated to in a crowded room to catch-up with and hear about life's updates and travels. She certainly passed those qualities on to her sons, who always treat anyone they meet with jubilance and love. Laurette will most certainly be remembered through her children,...

Laurette was a SILENT Teacher. I don't think she ever knew how much I learned from her and through her. Whether it was a book that she was recommending or a book that we both had read ( we had our own "book club" in the aisle of Harris Teeter ) a restaurant in Rome , or discussing a Caravaggio painting, I always learned something new from her. She always had a smile and a warm greeting. We also shared November birthdays , I am thankful for having known her and the richness that she added to...

Laurette loved life and lived it well. In doing-so, she brought joy into the lives of everyone she met. As her co-worker at St. Francis of Assisi, I was often amazed at her organizational skills. She kept all the wheels oiled and running smoothly at the parish, and she did so with grace and kindness. I'm sure that, shortly after arriving at heaven's gate, she started planning a party for all the saints. I will miss her smiling presence. My sympathies to her family.

Fond memories of my former colleague Laurette from St. Francis. What a sweet heart she was and will continue to be through eternity. My prayers and condolences to her family and friends.

Dominoes and Dominos August 2025

Laurette—“Mrs. Benton” for most of my life—always felt very much like a second mother to me. She was the proud matriarch of a home where I never needed to knock before entering, and every visit was met with a highpitched burst of delight. That wasn’t unique to me, of course; I was simply one of the many “sons’ buddies” she mentioned in her obituary. That is why her loss is so difficult for all of us—she had a remarkable gift for making each of us feel like the most important person in her...
