Laurie's Obituary

WORCESTER-Laurie A. Kollios, 60, passed away Sunday, May 4th after a courageous battle with ALS. Laurie leaves her beloved of 30 years, Michael Lynch; her parents, Charles and Dorothy Kollios of West Yarmouth; her sisters, Darra Kollios and her daughter, Nia Kollios of Belle Air, FL and Darci Kollios of Roslindale; the extended Lynch family; her non-blood related siblings of the heart, Steven Martin, Charlene Martin-DeAngelo, the deceased Diane Martin Brooks and the extended Martin family. All of the above named claimed Laurie as their own and she will be deeply missed.

 

Laurie was born in Southbridge. She earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Quinsigamond Community College, graduated from Bancroft School of Massage and Clark University.

 

Laurie was a professional singer for 30 years and was a founding member of the Silverbacks. She completed a novel and was working on her memoir.

 

Visiting hours for Laurie will be held on Wednesday, May 7th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20005 or to The VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
