Leah L. Hamrick was the most thoughtful and caring wife, mother and sister. She left this world on October 10, 2021 at 59 years old while at a place she holds dear, Green Acres.
She was born to Thomas and Barbara Littlewood on October 31, 1961 in Springfield, Illinois. She grew up in Fall Church, Virginia with her siblings: Linda Johnson, Lisa Ratchford and Thomas S. Littlewood. Leah studied nursing at Depauw University and later moved to Indianapolis, where she met her husband, Bradley Hamrick. Together they had three children: Bryce, Christopher and Elizabeth.
Leah enjoyed spending time with loved ones and caring for others. She found joy in the simple pleasures in life like sewing, gardening, raising chickens and going on walks with friends. You knew you had her stamp of approval if you ever received a handmade mask or carton of eggs from her chickens. Leah was always looking for ways to help others, acting as a Board Member and Volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Memories of her always include a smile on her face and a warm, calming presence.
Leah passed away unexpectantly, but her memory is caried on through her children and family. She would ask that friends and family do not mourn her leaving, but celebrate her life and cherish the memories of her.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 at the Avon Conkle Funeral Home from 1:30 – 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Leelanau Conservancy or Meal Wheels of Hendricks County on her behalf.

Brad,
odd that i am choosing words to communicate what words cannot express. i cannot imagine your loss and that of your family. our medical community has grown so that things like this are not widely shared and i did not hear of this until this week. know that you and your children are prayed for through this. proud to be your colleague.
His,

I just heard about Leah’s passing. We were neighbors in Avon, and our children were childhood friends. I always enjoyed visiting with her and she always found a way to make me laugh. Our family is saddened with this unexpected loss and we are so sorry. Brad, Bryce, Chris and Beth, we pray that you find peace with every passing day and that you cherish the memories and legacy that she leaves behind. Rest in peace Leah, you will be missed.

So sadden to hear about Leah's passing. As a former Meals on Wheels Director, I had the opportunity to see first hand the joy Leah brought to some many others. She would send get well and birthday cards to the clients she delivered to and would prepare special gifts for them on holidays. Leah was a true example of kindness! She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Leah's family during this difficult time.

I first connected with Leah through a play group we had when our children were toddlers. Then I was fortunate enough to work with her at Meals on Wheels. Leah was such a fun, kind and someone you could always depend on. I will truly miss being around her. Prayers to her family

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Elizabeth and her family. While we never had the pleasure of meeting Leah, if she was anything like Elizabeth, we know we lost a beautiful soul.

Brad, Bryce, Chris, and Beth,
I am so grateful for the Oak Bend memories together when our children were all young. That’s where our friendship started.
It never mattered how long Leah and I had not seen one another after we moved, we always picked up where we left off and she was the purest form of friendship one can be blessed with throughout the years.
I am devastated at your loss and cannot wrap my mind around this. May her love for you and dedication to her family live on in every fiber of your being to help absorb the pain.
I loved her, wish I could have another dinner with her, and will forever cherish her friendship.
