Lee's Obituary

Lee David Thompson II known to all as David, age 70, of Elgin Texas passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Lee was born February 28, 1948 to B.J. and Faye Thompson in Uvalde, Texas. In 1972 he joined the United States Army, were he serviced for 20 years earning the rank of Staff Sargent and retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #328. In Lee’s spare time he enjoyed camping, carpentry, collecting guns, knives and dragon figurines as well watching old western movies, driving around his Mustang, and going to car races. Lee was very compassionate and caring man and would do anything for anyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife Sandra Jeanette Thompson.

Lee is survived by his three children; Lee David Thompson III and partner Karen Terrell, Clifton Travis Thompson and Roy Dale Thompson and wife Alvina, Three Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; DeWayne Thompson, Twila Wimberley, Lou Ellen Wilmont, Sue Bates, Brenda Joan Axtell and Jeannie Linda Davis.

A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with full military honors at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery Killeen, Texas.

Pallbearers: Lee Thompson III, Clifton Thompson, Roy Thompson, Joe Spiking, Joseph Yanes, Charley Harden.
