Both Pastor and Mrs. Bubar were beautiful parts of my youth, growing up in St. Croix within the congregation of Sunny Isle Baptists Church. I remember Mrs. Bubar as being warm, calm, and always encouraging. It is a blessing that she was able to spend many years with family and community on this side.

In my high school years in St. Croix, while my family and I attended the Sunny Isle Baptist Church, Mrs. Bubar played an influential role in my life. She encouraged me to participate in the services by playing the organ and helped to build my confidence.
In a church environment more known for its formal format, she encouraged my creativity and expression, even when others opposed it.
She and Pastor Bubar would sometimes have me spend the day with them after church....
