I met Leo when my wife, Debra and I moved to Island Pond in 2005. He was a kind and caring man. Like many people I purchased wood from Leo for the winter. I moved from Island Pond in 2019 after my wife’s passing in 2015. Leo was a bright spot in my time in Island Pond.

I met Leo when I was building my house in 1982. I was trying to save some money on building materials and bought some used concrete forms from him. I think he would be happy that I made good use of them. I saw Leo another time or two since, and he really hadn't changed very much. He was pleasant to talk with and I know he appreciated his family.

“Mr. C!” My fondest memory of Leo is when he drove the bus for Brighton Elementary students. “Happy Days” was a popular TV show and I was happy to adopt the name Mr.C for him and he seemed truly enjoy this new “name!”
RIP Mr. C! Thank You for the kindness, memories, and safety you provided for BES students and families.
