Read MoreI met Leo when my wife, Debra and I moved to Island Pond in 2005. He was a kind and caring man. Like many people I purchased wood from Leo for the winter. I moved from Island Pond in 2019 after my wife’s passing in 2015. Leo was a bright spot in my time in Island Pond.

I met Leo when I was building my house in 1982. I was trying to save some money on building materials and bought some used concrete forms from him. I think he would be happy that I made good use of them. I saw Leo another time or two since, and he really hadn't changed very much. He was pleasant to talk with and I know he appreciated his family.

“Mr. C!” My fondest memory of Leo is when he drove the bus for Brighton Elementary students. “Happy Days” was a popular TV show and I was happy to adopt the name Mr.C for him and he seemed truly enjoy this new “name!”
