The family of Lester William Hatton Jr is saddened to announce his death on August 26, 2025. He was 93 years old, born January 20, 1932 in San Diego, California to Lester William Hatton Sr. and Florence I. (Mitchell) Hatton.
Lester is survived by his wife of 51 1/2 years Mearl Hatton, daughters; Shirley I Avery (Delaware), Melody L. Stockman (Melvin Village, NH), Leslie D. Stroud (New Hampton, NH), Valerie G. Bothelo (Melrose, MA) and Wendy M. Hatton (Spring Hill, FL), step-son; Douglas B. Dowling (NH) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents and sister Alice Fisher.
Lester centered his life around his family. He served in the US Navy for 23 years and served in The Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He entered the service as a Seaman and Retired as a Lieutenant Commander. Lester enjoyed reading, traveling with his wife and enjoyed craft woodworking.
There will be a visitation held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home on September 6, 2025 from 1-3 and a service to follow. At the family's convenience Lester will be buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to The Wounded Warriors in memory of Lester Hatton.
