Not sure what to say?

Growing up as Les's nephew and Mary Ann's brother, I had a great opportunity to learn many life lessons from Les. Integrity, ethics, humor and unquenchable optimism were his hallmarks. I still remember his always ready answer to anyone asking ," how are you doing?" "Wonderful" was his reply, and you could tell that he really meant it! I have incorporated that spirit in my own reply when asked the same question. "How am I doing?" Wonderful! Thank you, Les, and Godspeed.

I was also one of those neighborhood kids as I grew up around the corner from the Parks, on N. Caldwell, 2 houses behind the Gaffords. I remember Leston, but was closer in age to his younger brother, Ron. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May he R.I.P.

Moonpies and cheerwine forever

Condolences to you and your family, Mary Ann. We always enjoyed our conversations with Les. He had a wit and a way of brightening everyone's day.

Mary Ann, our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. What a joy is was getting to know you both. Les never failed to make us smile. We will remember him with great fondness and wish God's comfort for you and yours.

"They who put their hope in the Lord will renew their strength." --Isaiah
Dear Mary Ann, Tripp, Chris and family,
May you know God's love and presence, surrounding you and strengthening you during this time of grief.
We have so many fond memories from the years at St. Paul's. We will always appreciate that Les recommended Bradley's Auto Center to service our VW Rabbit! You remain in our thoughts and prayers.
Grace and peace, Kerry and Beth Dietz

So very sorry to learn of his death. We were fraternity brothers at NC State! My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

Dear Mary Ann, Tripp, Chris, and family, I am so sorry for your loss and am sending deepest sympathies. I have fond memories of Les as he was a dear friend of my parents. I remember his vivacious spirit, sense of humor, and warmth that would fill the room. He will be missed!

I am so sorry for your loss. Love you. Although we haven't seen each other in a few years you and Les are still my cherished friends for ever. May God give you the strength to carry on.
