Lewis's Obituary

Lewis E. Bartlett, Sr., 91, of Conroe, formerly of Navasota and Houston, died Friday morning, April 8, 2016, at Heritage Oaks in Conroe.Visitation took place from 9:00 to 10:30 am Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A celebration of his life began at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Pastor C. McAllister "Mac" Vaughn of First United Methodist Church officiated. Private interment followed in Stoneham Cemetery in Stoneham.Lewis was born March 13, 1925 in Brownwood, Texas to Lewis E. and Eleanor Stoneham Bartlett. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated form Brackenridge High School in 1943. He continued his studies at Trinity University where he received a BA and he earned his Masters from the University of Texas. Lewis completed his studies graduating from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in 1963.Lewis's work background included being a teaching fellow at the University of Texas, a representative with E.R. Squibb & Sons, a pharmacy student with Walgreens and Jones Apothecary, as well as a registered pharmacist with both and with Rosewood Hospital.He spent time in Navasota during his retirement and keeping up with his ranch and later returned to the Houston area. For the past 6 years he lived at Heritage Oaks in Conroe where he was known as "Cowboy".Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Patrick Bartlett and granddaughter, Ariel Elyse Bartlett.Survivors include three children, Lewis E. Bartlett, Jr. of Conroe, Thomas Robert Bartlett of Anchorage, Alaska and Mary Katherine Bartlett of Houston along with two grandchildren, Kevin Bartlett and David Bartlett.
