Obituary

Lillian's Obituary

Funeral services for Lillian Pettiette 88 of Palestine, will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine. Mrs. Pettiette passed away Thursday at Trucare Living Centers. She was born December 14, 1924 in Blackfoot Community to Charley C. Smith and Clara Holeman Smith. She was the manager for Montgomery Ward for thirty years and the bookkeeper for the Anderson County Adult Probation Department for twenty years. She was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Altrusa Club joining in 1965 and was president from 1967 to 1969. She loved the color pink, cats and Christmas time. Mrs. Pettiette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmo Pettiette and brothers Ernest Archie "Jake" Smith and Walter Floyd Smith. She is survived by daughter Jamie Pettiette-Rhone and husband Jon of Palestine, foster daughters; Jan Dupree of Houma, LA. and Sonia Meche of Lafayette, La., and granddaughter Jillian Rhone of Palestine. Pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Brett Dupree, Josh Dupree, Roy Drewett, Chris Jones and Dub Davis. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Bailey & Foster Palestine. In lieu of flowers family request donations be sent to BARC Humane Society.
