Linda Jean Delaney, born on July 13, 1955, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on August 22, 2025, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Linda is survived by her son Nick B. Colbrese, (Kelli Caudell), Grandson Nick Colbrese, Granddaughter, Kalynn Colbrese, Daughter Sara Colbrese, 5 siblings; Doreena Delaney (Curt Gilbertson), Karen Delaney Groves (Jim), Darlene Delaney Rozak (Karl), Dana Delaney, and Julie Delaney, (Jim Woods). Linda is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she cared deeply about and always wanted to hear what everyone was up to. Her parents Dainel and Norma Delaney preceded her in death.Linda was born in Chicago and the family moved to Homewood, IL with 3 small children and attended the local schools through her Homewood-Flossmoor High School class of 1973. Linda and Nick Colbrese married after graduation and moved to Champagne/Urbana and then to Tempe Arizona to attend ASU. From there it was on to California where they started their family. Linda eventually moved to Arizona where she has lived for the past 34 years. Linda was blessed with many friends and was a very spiritual person. She worked as an interior decorator, became a Master Gardener, was an avid reader and writer while working in palliative care for a while. She loved being in nature and was self- taught in natural remedies. Music was also a passion of Linda’s. A family favorite was Joy to The World…Jeremiah always brings a smile.Since Linda was such a huge fan of NPR, the family is requesting that donations can be made to NPR through the link; www.npr.org. or to Maggie’s Hospice, who does the work of Angels: www.MaggiesHospice.com. A private Celebration of Life is being planned.
