Linda's Obituary

Linda F. (Coleman) Dussey, 63 of Worcester passed away Thursday, December 26th 2013 with family by her side. Linda was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama one of ten children of MC and Mamie (Smith) Coleman. She grew up in Alabama, traveled back and forth from Alabama to visit family in Worcester before settling here for good in 1978. Linda accepted several positions for employment in Worcester before accepting a position with The Community Builders Company in Worcester servicing the Plumley Village community where she worked for over 10 years before retiring. Linda is survived by her five children, Dwight Coleman, Kimberly Miller and her husband Lavanial, April Baez and her husband Armando, Akua Coleman and Charles Dussey; six grandchildren, Jarel Anderson, Cassandra Coleman, Dazha and Tyrek Chambers, Vance, Kiara and Jada Miller; four brothers, three sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and her former husband Livingston Dussey. Two brothers pre deceased her. Linda was very active in her community helping people. When not working she volunteered her time to the Mustard Seed on Austin St, Plumley Village Food Bank, and to anyone who needed her help. Funeral services for Linda will be held Monday, January 6th at 12 noon in the Belmont AME Zion Church, 51 Illinois Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A period of visitation will be held from 10:30 to the time of the service in the church. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont AME Zion Church, 51 Illinois St. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
