Not sure what to say?

Heaven gained a beautiful angel. To all who knew Linda, we were blessed in so many ways. Linda was a caretaker for mom and dad. I was alone with mom and Hospice was not sure she would make it through the night. Linda came into mom's bedroom and prayed with me, held my hand and sang to me. When she sang to mom, I got to see her smile and be alert . Linda was an angel here on earth. RIP beautiful Linda...you are loved by so many who will miss you tremendously.

Sweet memories of this special ladylove and laughter!

Rest well in the land of joy, classmate. Ask if they allow jack playing there, if so start a game for Carmen and me. God Bless your family.

Linda's Obituary

Linda Holman Erickson, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Edith Holman. Linda grew up in Burkburnett, Texas, where she graduated from Burkburnett High School. Although she lived in Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Wichita, Kansas, she always called Burkburnett her true home and was grateful to spend the last 15 years of her life there.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Burkburnett with Rev. Liz Talbert, officiating.

Linda was an extremely talented craftsperson, jewelry designer, and a magnificent pianist. She played the piano her entire life and shared her gift with others, including playing for Janlee Baptist Church for several years. Later in life, she devoted herself to a career in social work as a child advocate and later as a caregiver for numerous Burkburnett families and their loved ones. Her compassion, patience, and unwavering belief in helping people touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

She was a devoted volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and even though her route was short, she never hurried through it. She took time to sit, visit, and truly care for each person she served. One of the greatest joys of her life was taking lunch to her great-grandchildren every Friday, something she looked forward to all week. Many other children would try to sit with her too, drawn to her warmth and kindness, and especially when she dressed up like an elf at Christmas. Linda never missed a chance to tell the people in her life that she loved them, and you could always feel how deeply she meant it.

She was an animal lover and had many dogs over the years; her sweet Mackey was always by her side.

For 38 years, Linda shared a beautiful and loving marriage with her husband and the love of her life, John Erickson. They were active members of First United Methodist Church in Burkburnett, where she faithfully helped with Logos and attended Bible study each week. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she lived it daily through her kindness, generosity, and love for others. She had a joyful spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and was often the life of the party. She loved traveling with John as they explored the northeast including New York City, Baltimore, Massachusetts, and a bit further east to the Bahamas. She was the “Official Tourguide” for friends and family visiting the Philadelphia area.  Closer to home they enjoyed numerous trips to the Wichita Mountains. She treasured many girls’ trips to Ruidoso; Savannah, Georgia; Eureka Springs; Nashville, Tennessee; and many other places filled with laughter and memories.

She cherished her childhood and often spoke about her father teaching her to ride horses, drive the tractor, and work cattle, and how much she loved spending time with him on the farm. She also loved fishing with her mother, memories she held close to her heart throughout her life.

She was a devoted mother and dear friend to her daughter, Kim Terry, and son, Tom Terry. She is also survived by her bonus sons whom she loved dearly and treated as her own, Derek Erickson and wife Gail, Jason Erickson and wife Kathy, and Jeremy Erickson and wife Lynsey; grandchildren, Brint Richter and wife Claudia, Kayla Thompson and husband Dan, Austin Richter and wife Danielle, Megan Scott and husband Devon, Evan Browning and fiancée Abigail, Joshua Erickson and wife Carolyn, Avery Erickson and wife Abigail, Emily Jean Windahl and husband Rhett, Xander Erickson, and Kylee Erickson; and 16 great-grandchildren, including Brookelyn and Hayes Richter.

Nothing in this world brought Linda more happiness than her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
