Linda was a great friend in nursing school- we enjoyed so many fun times with her. I was so happy to be one of the bridesmaids in she and Doug’s wedding. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Linda and Doug’s family.

It was with sympathy and sadness that I learned of Linda’s passing. We went through Allentown School of Nursing together where I became aware of her quiet unassuming and compassionate ways. The world lost a shining light. My condolences are with her entire family.

Linda's Obituaries

Linda Lou (Middlecamp) Houser, 76, of Schnecksville, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown. She was the wife of Douglas A. Houser to whom she was married 54 years. Born in Lehighton, December 16, 1948, Linda was the daughter of the late Howard A. Middlecamp and Verna M. (Snyder) Middlecamp Zehner. A graduate of the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, Linda was a registered nurse employed at The Phoebe Home, Allentown as night shift nursing supervisor for 32 years before retiring. Prior to that, she began her nursing career at the former Allentown General Hospital for 2 years. Linda was a member of the former Upper Lehigh Lioness Club, Schnecksville and the Order of the Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter #235. Linda was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.

Linda was a devoted mother whose life centered around her family. Her unwavering love and selflessness were evident in the way she always put the needs of her family, children, and grandchildren before her own. With a heart full of compassion, she found joy in caring for others. Linda’s spirit of hospitality, quiet strength, and deep love leave a lasting legacy in the lives she touched.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Doug; children, Jason D. Houser and his wife, Tara of South Whitehall Township, Tiffany N. Houser and her fiancé, David S. Coult of Schnecksville; step sister, Dawn Oswald and her husband, Gerald of Lancaster; beloved grandchildren, Wynne, Pierce, Dougie, Ben.

Service: Funeral services will be held 10:30 am. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 am. – 10:30 am. prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Zion’s Stone Church Cemetery, New Ringgold, West Penn Township.  Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
