Linda (Sage) McDevitt passed away on August 24, 2025. Linda was born March 31st, 1951, an only child born to Edward Sage and Mildred (Naylor) Sage in Washington state. At a very young age Linda and the Sage family relocated to Drummond, Mt where Linda attended local schools and later graduated from Drummond High School.
Drummond is where Linda met her first husband Michael E. Glennon. Mike and Linda were soon married and relocated to Glen, Montana where they owned and operated a ranch. Mike and Linda later divorced, and Linda remained on the ranch where she raised four children.
Years later Linda moved to Butte where she married Owen McDevitt in 1992, and they have been together ever since. One of Linda’s favorite tasks in life was being a mother and a grandmother, she adored watching her children and grandchildren grow and flourish. She especially looked forward to watching her grandchildren participate in all their endeavors. Linda had many passions and hobbies. One such passion was photography, particularly when it came to photographing owls. When camping or riding through the mountains Linda could be seen intensely scanning the landscape for her next opportunity to be able to photograph one of these elusive birds.
Linda was born with a spot in her heart for the desert. Later in life she looked forward to her and Owen’s yearly trips to the desert. Linda loved the wide-open spaces the desert offered; she especially loved the ever-changing radiant colors the desert provided and how these colors changed throughout the day. Linda used to tell all that would listen she felt the most at home when she was sitting beneath a Joshua tree.
Linda lived a meaningful and fulfilling life filled with love, joy and happiness. Linda was many things to all that knew and loved her. We know Linda is sitting in her eternal desert somewhere beneath a Joshua tree and smiling down upon us patiently waiting for the day we can all see each other again.
Linda is proceeded in death by Edward Sage (Father), Mildred (Naylor) Sage (Mother), Micheal T Glennon (Son).
Linda is survived by her husband, Owen McDevitt; daughter Sarah Vivian (Doc); daughter Michelle Blakeley (Michael); daughter Beverly Baril; son Shawn McDevitt; daughter Kelly McDevitt (Linwood Gantt). Numerous grandchildren which all held a very special place in her heart.
Funeral Services will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 03, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. A further celebration of Linda's life will be held immediately following services.
