I am praying for you and your family. She was the sweetest lady I have known. This breaks my heart for you and your family. I always enjoyed talking to her and seeing her when she would come to the office.

Linda Nell's Obituary

Linda Nell Shehane age 82 of Lebanon, died Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025 at Wilson Manor of Lebanon. Born May 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rob Roy Marler and Vaughtie Lee Vantrease Marler.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gene Edward Shehane on Aug. 20, 2020; a brother, John Roy Marler; sister, Peggy Taylor and an aunt and uncle, Maurine and Wallace Johnson.

Linda was a former teachers aide and from Sept 1, 1973 till April 12, 2012 she worked for Wilson County Government in the County Court Clerk's office, the County Executive's office and the Finance Dept.

She is survived by her children, Allen Shehane and wife, Shelby of Carthage, Pam McAteer and husband, Chris and Kim Stewart and husband, Joe both of Lebanon,; grandchildren, Tyler (Ally) Lasater, Daniel Shehane, Will Stewart, Katie Stewart; step grandchildren, Chad (Erica) Stewart, Chasity Phillips, Zack McAteer; great grandchildren, Rylie Jean Lasater, Peyton Jane Lasater, Lily Rose Shehane; sister, Mary Ann (Chuck) Chilcutt; sisters-in-law, Sheryl Marler and Evelyn Shehane and her children, Jan and Michael; cousins, June Woodard and Danny (Jean) Johnson; nieces, nephews and many special cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Pratt and County Mayor, Randall Hutto officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till service time on Sunday. Pallbearers, Tyler Lasater, Daniel Shehane, Will Stewart, Chris McAteer, Joe Stewart, Cory Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wilson County Courthouse Retirees. Interment will follow at Hunter Memorial Park.  The family would like to thank Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Gentiva Hospice and the nurses and staff at Wilson Manor for all their love and care.
