Linn Dale Wages “Cracker”, 82, of Archer City, Texas peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Advanced Rehab in Wichita Falls.
Dale was born on August 12, 1943 with his twin sister Gale, to the late Lester Linn and Juanita Cecilia Clark Wages in Olney, Texas. He married Janice Gale Branch in Olney on August 17, 1963. Jan and Dale both worked really hard in their careers. Dale spent many years working as a machinist for Dorlands in Electra, where he earned his nickname of Cracker. He worked in many other jobs, but he retired from City of Wichita Falls Public Works Water Department after 18 years. Then he worked part-time as a code enforcement officer for the city of Holliday. Dale and Jan loved loading up their RV “Big Boy” and camped at many different locations, especially Lake Texoma and Lake Murray as well as Possum Kingdom. Their other favorite pastime was chasing the moon in their convertible Miata.
They also loved being cheerleaders for their daughter, Stacy and her husband, Dean as well as their two granddaughters, DeeAnndra and Janna-Maree. They especially enjoyed cheering them both on their UIL One Act Play competitions.
Dale is best known for his positive Christian attitude and his kindness towards others. He was always wanting to help others with their problems or needs. The numerous nurses from Advanced Rehab and Hospice of Wichita Falls that helped Dale, absolutely loved him, all saying how sweet he is.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jan. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harold and Ray Wages, and his twin sister, Gale Arispe.
