Linnie's Obituary

Linnie Parker, affectionately known as “Linnie Pearl,” peacefully entered eternal rest on November 24, 2025, at the blessed age of 83. Born on April 28, 1942, in Suffolk, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mary Frances Whitehead and beloved stepfather Willie Whitehead Sr.

As the eldest of six children, Linnie embraced her role with grace and devotion. She grew up alongside her siblings: Joseph Roberts (deceased), Timothy Whitehead (deceased), Willie Lee Whitehead Jr., Gladys Manley, Randy Scales (deceased), and Beverly Greene. Her childhood was shaped by love, community, and the bonds of a close-knit family.

Linnie received her early education at Andrew J. Brown Elementary School and continued at Booker T. Washington. A woman of quiet strength and steadfast commitment, she dedicated over twenty-five years of her life as a domestic engineer in the home of Mr. William Anderson, serving with loyalty, dignity, and excellence.

She later married the love of her life, Christopher C. Parker, and together they built a beautiful, blended family rooted in love, resilience, and unity. Their union brought forth eight treasured daughters: Jacqueline Parker-Rawlings, Jessica Parker, Brenda Miller (deceased), Linda Roberts, Marcella Brooks, Patricia Parker (deceased), Yolanda Parker, and Bridget Dreuitt. Linnie also lovingly nurtured Marshall Anderson, Shelvia Ruth, and Stephen Anderson, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A devoted and proud grandmother, she poured limitless love into her grandchildren: Christopher Rawlings, Jamar Parker, Keifus Rawlings, Nathaniel Cross, Anthony Green, Joshua Dreuitt, Joy Miller, Ebony Roberts, Jasmine Dreuitt, and Anesha Dreuitt. Her legacy continued through her nine great-grandchildren: Priest Green, Rhianna Leary, Jamarr Harris, Amir Cross, Aaliyah Cross, Evie Dreuitt, Olajuwon Rawlings, Dominque Cross, Ishmir Rawlings, and Essence Rawlings, great -great grandson, Sahd Cross, each blessed to receive her love across generations.

Linnie’s life was also enriched by the presence of her devoted lifelong friends: Marie Edwards, Ann Pierce, Virginia Sessoms, Carcena Britt, and Blanche Frier—sisters in spirit who journeyed with her through laughter, challenges, and triumphs.

Linnie Pearl will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering loyalty, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and quiet perseverance will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.

May her soul find rest, and may her memory be a forever blessing.
