ObituaryLionel “Hootie” Kay Pokibro, 46 Lionel “Hootie” Kay Pokibro, 46, passed away on January 11, 2016 in Fort Hall, Idaho. He was an enrolled Shoshone-Bannock Tribal member and lived in Fort Hall. He was born July 10, 1969 in Pocatello Idaho to Zelma Robertson and Irving Cruz Pokibro. He attended school in Fort Hall and Blackfoot and received his GED. He worked at numerous places, including numerous construction sites, flagging, driving truck and heavy equipment. Lionel graduated from heavy equipment school. He is survived by his son, Steven Pokibro; his daughter, Kaylyn Pokibro both of Fort Hall; father, Irving; mother, Zelma; twin sister, Lanelle Pokibro; half-sisters, Elizabeth Salway and Leighann Salway; half-brother, Patrick Shining Elk; maternal aunts, Roylance Aragon, Steve Aragon and Teresea Plentyhoops; and family, Betty Glick, Janet Beck and family; paternal aunts, Merceline “Bel” Boyer and Zelphia Towersap; uncle, Lionel Boyer; his cousin, Robert Sloss; and numerous cousins; nephews; nieces; and friends in Wyoming and Idaho. He was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn Pokibro; half-brothers, Stanford Lyle Salway Jr., Marvin Salway and Craig Enos; his maternal grandmother, Lucinda Aragon; grandfather, Bugs Hurtado; maternal great-grandparents, Pete and Lucinda Hereford Aragon; his paternal grandparents, Russell Pokibro and Josephine Sandy Pokibro; and was a descendent of Captain Jim on his paternal side; great-grand father, AC Pokibro; great-grand mother, Pooyah; paternal great-grandfather, Isaac Sandy; uncles, McNivens Kay Pokibro and LeRoy Towersap; and his cousin, Vincent Boyer.His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, being outdoors, camping, drawing, working on cars and monster truck shows. He loved country and heavy metal music and enjoyed making people happy and was helpful to people. He was baptized Roman Catholic, and he participated in sweat lodge ceremonies and was brought up in a traditional way. He will be taken to the Pokibro home on Pokibro Lane and North Bannock Road on Wednesday, January 13 at 10 am. A funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. The Sunrise Service will be held on Thursday morning at sunrise at the family home. Traditional burial service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm with burial at the Gibson Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
