Listell Chester, Jr., made his peaceful transition from this earthly life to begin a life of eternal happiness and joy, resting peacefully with our Eternal Father on March 13th, 2024. He passed away in Arlington, Texas at the age of 80.
Listell Chester, Jr. was born on October 24, 1943 to Jane Etta and Listell Chester Sr., in Los Angeles, California.Listell was a graduate of Walnut Hill High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.
After graduating High School, Listell worked for a local plant. The Plant soon moved to Oklahoma, where he also moved. After moving to Oklahoma, he relocated to Chicago and then to Grand Prairie, Texas. He worked for several companies in Grand Prairie until his retirement.Listell’s passion was gardening, watching sports and going to the Golden Corral with his friends. Listell was devoted to his ministry as an Usher at Sunset Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Listell was a brave man who did things his way. His resilient faith made him steadfast and strong-willed, and able to face whatever trials came his way with courage and dignity. He was also a dependable and caring man and was content in all things.
Listell fully embraced both the great joys and deep sorrows along his life’s journey, counting them all as part of God’s perfect plan for his life. Those who knew Listell will remember him as a man with big heart and a generous spirit who loved his family and loved to laugh. The memories he leaves behind will be a lasting treasure for generations to come.
On March 13, 2024, he was greeted at Heaven’s gate by his loving mother, Jane Chester, and aunt, Lonzetta Sanders.He leaves behind to celebrate his life four sisters, Shirley Coffey, Margaret Young, (both of Chicago, Il), Mattie Gooden (Arlington, TX) and Tammye Colley (Phillip) of Fort Worth, TX; nieces, Truvella, Java and Marla; nephews, Robert, Marcus, Brandon, Jason, Anwar and a host of other relatives and friends.
