Lloyd Justus Crandall, Jr., 81, of Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, died on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Rhodda M. (Blundell) Crandall to whom he was married on September 13, 1958.Born in Billerica, Massachusetts on December 2, 1929, he was a son of the late Lloyd Justus Crandall, Sr. and the late Gladys (Dawson) Crandall. He was raised and educated in his native community of Billerica where he was a 1947 graduate of Billerica High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Bentley College in 1951.Mr. Crandall was employed as a chief financial officer for numerous companies including Ames Safety Envelope in Somerville from where he retired in 1996; Sheraton Hotels International, Stride Rite Shoe Corporation and Sands, Taylor and Wood.He moved to North Attleboro seven months ago from Harwich on Cape Cod where he had resided for the previous 15 years. Prior to moving to Harwich, Mr. Crandall was a resident of Norfolk for many years.While residing in Norfolk, Mr. Crandall was a member of the Federated Church of Norfolk where he was an active member, volunteer and served as Deacon.Mr. Crandall was a former member of the Norfolk Lions Club and was a former member and officer of the Financial Executives Institute.As an ardent sports fan, particularly the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox, Mr. Crandall was the past president of the Billerica Babe Ruth league and had served as president of the Norfolk Little League.In addition to his wife of 52 years, he leaves three children: Barbara Crandall Breslin and her husband, Edwin "Ted" R. Breslin, Jr., of the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston; Lynne Crandall Vendetti of North Attleboro and Lloyd Justus Crandall, III of Brockton; two grandchildren: Edwin R. Breslin, III of the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston and Jaykob M. Vendetti of North Attleboro; two brothers: Dale Crandall of Billerica and Jon Crandall of Chelmsford and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.He was the brother of the late Elaine Crandall Harwick and Marvin Crandall.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service in Celebration of His Life to be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Federated Church of Norfolk, One Union Street, Norfolk.Burial will be private in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any of the Salvation Army organization.To send the family an expression of sympathy, please visit an on-line register book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com.
