Elva Nell and Family

Our love and sympathy to all the family on the passing of Lloyd. May God give you days filled with comfort and peace. I met Lloyd through Tony Kneupper when I was a first year teacher at Canyon Junior High in 1967. Lots of good memories of a most gracious man.

He was a great, great man, teacher, and bus driver. May he rest in peace, and you are in my prayers as well. God bless you all.

Mr. Lenz taught me so much about Texas history, and a love of history in general. We still mention his classes over 30 years later. He was also so patient with us. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

Mr Lenz helped nurture my love of history and he along with Helen Schoolcraft and Mr Tatum were my favorite teachers at Bulverde. Deepest condolences to the Lenz family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Lenz’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family, and friends. He was a kind and patient man, a great educator, and definitely left his mark on this world. “Thank you” from all of us, your students.

Lloyd was mentor to me when I first started teaching. He was the kindest and most caring teacher a student could ever have. He was a walking Texas history encyclopedia! He will be remembered as Mr Bulverde-as he was so proud of his community. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to his family.

Obituary

Lloyd's Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lloyd H. Lenz, who departed this life peacefully on the morning of December 16, 2025. Born in Seguin, Texas, to Walter and Esther (Ruedrich) Lenz, Lloyd was the eldest of three siblings. His life was characterized by unwavering service, profound integrity, and a passion for education, which left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Lloyd was a proud graduate of Seguin High School, after which he pursued higher education at Texas Lutheran College. His academic journey was briefly interrupted when he was called to serve in the U.S. Army, where he honorably defended his country before returning to build a loving life with his wife, Elva Nell Theilengerdes, whom he wedded in 1955.

A dedicated educator, Lloyd began his teaching career at Elm Creek and soon moved to Bulverde, where he devoted over 30 years of service to the students of Comal ISD. His commitment to education extended beyond the school year, as he spent summers working as a tour guide at Natural Bridge Caverns. Even following his retirement, he remained active, working part-time at H-E-B. He was more than a teacher; he embodied the values he instilled in his students, demonstrating honesty and integrity in every aspect of his life.

Lloyd's legacy will forever be cherished by his loving family and the countless students whose lives he enriched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther Lenz; his brother, Lee Jay Lenz; and his beloved grandson, Samuel Leonard.

Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife, Elva Nell Lenz; sister, Nadine (James) Fischer; children; Randy (Pam), Letha (Randy), and Terry (Beth); grandchildren, Nicholas (Charity) Lenz, Zachary (Rebekah) Leonard, Chase (Tara) Lenz, Tiane (Christian) Garner, Stasha (Ira) Gasque-Lenz, Travis (Sara) Lenz, Jacob Leonard, Morgan (Aaron) Leonard-Montez, Elianna Lenz, Rebekah Lenz, and Elizabeth Lenz; a legacy of 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren

Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Liberty Lighthouse fellowship in Johnson City where funeral services will commence at 1:00 PM.

The family welcomes all who knew Lloyd to join in honoring his remarkable life and the significant contributions he made to both his family and his community.

"He will be greatly missed by his family and the many, many students whose lives he touched."

For those desiring, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to God's Daily Word Ministries http://gdwm.org/
