Lloyd's Obituaries

Mr. Lloyd Thomas Vick, Sr,83, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 18, 1933 to the late Arcilious Mackey Vick and Mark Vick, Sr. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sons Lloyd Vick, Jr and Warren Vick; brother Mark Vick, Jr.

Lloyd was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and retired from Lipton/Unilever as a Machinist after numerous years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was former Chairman of the Deacon Board, Choir member and Missionary.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Catherine Vick of Suffolk; two daughters, Cynthia Richardson (James) and Angelia Goodman both of Suffolk; three sons, Richard Collins (Vivian) of Rome, GA, Gregory Collins (Ann) of Conley, GA and Curtis Vick of Suffolk; brother, William Vick of Suffolk; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; Godson, Rev. Jackie Young; special friends, Willie Powell and Tony Willie; a host of cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held noon Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Anthony Copeland will deliver the eulogy. He will be entombed in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Grove Building Fund.
