Lois's Obituary

Lois Johnson Ramsaur, 98, of Lumberton, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at GlenFlora, where she had resided the past five and a half years. She was born in Lumberton on August 27, 1918, the daughter of the late Ervin Mosby Johnson and Tessie Link Johnson. After graduating from Lumberton High School in 1935, where she served as class president, she attended Meredith College. She joined First Baptist Church of Lumberton in 1929, where she was an active member as long as her health permitted. On June 20, 1959, she married Jacob Alfred Ramsaur, with whom she had one son. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and faithful Christian.Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David Johnson Ramsaur and Patricia Murray Ramsaur; and two grandchildren, David Johnson Ramsaur, Jr. and Elizabeth Rebecca Ramsaur.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 1:00-2:00 PM in the Cherry Fellowship Building of the First Baptist Church, Seventh and Walnut Streets, in Lumberton . Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Dr. David Elks officiating. The committal service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to: First Baptist Church Endowment Trust, 606 North Walnut Street, Lumberton, NC 28358, or to Southeastern Health Foundation, P. O. Box 1408, Lumberton, NC 28359.
