I met MAC when I was assigned to the old hospital laboratory at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama in August 1977. At that time he was Captain Mac our laboratory director and soon to be come Major Mac! MAC was a great leader. He had to be. Between the rotating Army staff and the civil servants someone had to take charge. I soon realized that MAC was a huge role model in my life. Judy, Many special thoughts and prayers for you and the family. So many great memories of our Rockport, TX "winter Texan" years. Mac was one of a kind with his love of anything that had to do with trains, eating out, riding his bike, and traveling anywhere at anytime. But what I remember most is how he "trailed you around" at the quilt shows, stopping to closely examine anything that was vintage--especially quilts, quilt tops, and sewing machines.
