Joyce Lorene Almquist, 90, of Blanchard, died Saturday, October 11, 2025, at her home. The daughter of Robert Riley Raibourn and Alta Theta (Miller) Raibourn, Lorene was born July 11, 1935, in Anthony, Kansas.
She married the love of her life, David Michael “Dave” Almquist, on July 14, 1967, in Oklahoma City. They were married for almost 50 years at the time of his death in 2017. Lorene was a homemaker and was a long-time member of the Blanchard First Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved working crossword puzzles, reading, and baking. She loved decorating her home for every season and holiday. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave Almquist; two brothers, Robert Raibourn and Louis Raibourn; and one sister, Loretta Suthard.
Lorene is survived by one son, Steven Almquist of Blanchard; three daughters, Suzanne Almquist Blanton and her husband, Dee, of Mansfield, Texas, Kellee Sloan of Blanchard, and Kristal Almquist Cochran and her husband, Martin, of Edmond; three grandchildren, Kayla Gipson and Kelvin, Cody Sloan and Lauryn, and Cory Sloan and Jamie; six great grandchildren, Harly, Jenesis, Lincoln, Jaxxsyn, Elliott, and Grayson; two brothers, Lloyd Raibourn and Larry Raibourn, both of Broken Arrow; one sister, Lois Christopher of Blanchard; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
A viewing for friends and family will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held in the Blanchard Cemetery.
