Loretta McElhone

Loretta was a true treasure in our community since long before I was born. She and her late husband, Ed, were loved and respected for all they did for Dearborn Township and Dearborn Heights. My sincere condolences to the McElhone family and to all others who loved this remarkable woman.

I will always remember Aunt Loretta with a laugh and a smile. As Beth mentioned, Aunt Loretta was the family photographer and thank goodness for that. We have many photos of our family and kids that we would not have had without her and her camera. Hers was always, always the first Christmas card we received each year, always with a short note and a couple of photos. ❤. Aunt Loretta always made me smile! And at family gatherings she always had a camera in hand then a few months later a stack of photos would arrive in the mail! She also sent me a number of coffee cups with my name on them with a note saying she had found this in some shop or another and “You don’t often see the name Beth on a cup!” She was a hoot! I hope there are giant gardens in heaven where she can do her thing! My condolences to all my cousins. ❤

I fondly remember Mrs McElhone as one of the helpful “Girl Scout moms”. Sandy was in our troop, and we all lived having gatherings at their home. Wishing her family many sweet memories.

We met Loretta years ago in Myrtle Beach, she was such a lovely lady. I am sure she will be greatly missed by everyone.
