Not sure what to say?

I will always remember my first trip to the store after we moved to Norquay and Lorne greeted me saying “Hello Norma”! I was so honoured - and thought he even knows my name!! Such a kind fellow.
Our sincere condolences to Colleen, Allison and Abbey.

Our deepest condolences to Colleen, Ally, Abby, and Libby. Lorne was a delightful classmate with a big heart who grew up to be a town treasure. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Lorne's passing.
My deepest condolences to you Colleen and your girls.
He will be greatly missed by all

Lorne handed over his paper route to me in my teens delivering the Winnipeg Tribune and Leaderpost. He also helped me get a summer job at Robinson's IGA. Thats for being a wonderful community ambassador. You will be truly missed. God Bless you and your family!

Kindness, laughter, smiles with a side of witty remarks are what I will always remember about Lorne. May your hearts be filled with grace and ease as time passes.

So sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing. He showed kindness and thoughtfulness many times to myself and my family over the years.

We will very much miss seeing Lorne’s happy face, chatting with him was always the highlight of coming into town. Norquay won’t be the same without him. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. Treasure those precious memories.

Colleen and family -like many, everyone has a great memory and story of Lornie and across the miles, his presence is already missed by all those who knew him. May those surrounding you today and onward bring you the peace and smiles you may need during the difficult times. Thinking of you today and sending my sympathies.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Obituary

Lorne's Obituary

Lorne Norman Robinson was born on December 17, 1964, in Canora, Saskatchewan, to Norman and Olga (Lindgren) Robinson. He grew up in Norquay, attending the local schools and spending much of his childhood following his father around the family store. From the moment he could walk, Lorne was eager to learn, absorbing everything he could from Norman and building countless friendships within those familiar walls. In his younger years, Lorne enjoyed playing football, baseball, curling and hunting. Many weekends were spent with the Henderson cousins, and he treasured family trips up north. He enjoyed dirt biking, and snowmobiling. After completing meat-cutting training at Kelsey College in 1985, Lorne began cutting wild meat, steadily honing his craft. Over the years, though the store changed names and expanded more than once, his commitment to improving it never wavered. He was always experimenting with new recipes, seasonings, and ideas—constantly striving to make things better. Like his father, Lorne truly cherished his coffee time with friends and the chance to visit with the community he loved. On August 7, 1993, Lorne married Colleen Suchy in Norquay, SK. Together, they purchased a lot at Parr Hill Lake and moved a cabin onto it, creating a place filled with memories. They spent many winters on the snowmobile trails, and Lorne—along with a group of Norquay friends—helped establish the Prairie and Pine Sno Riders, developing trails throughout the area. He also had a lifelong love of classic and original vehicles and enjoyed collecting, restoring, and flipping them. When his daughters, Allison and Abby, were born, Lorne found immense joy in teaching them to fish, quad, snowmobile, and motorbike. They enjoyed many trips together as a family. He was a devoted and proud father who would do anything for his girls. Lorne is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Olga Robinson, and his father-in-law, Donald Suchy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Colleen; his daughters, Allison and Abby; and his sister, Libbie. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Suchy; brother and sister-in-law, Darren and Deborah Humphries; nephew, Carter; nieces, Lexi and Maya; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.DonationsThose wishing to make expressions of sympathy may do so by donating to the Norquay Memorial Tree Project or a charity of their choice, in memory of Lorne.
