Lorraine Ritchie, 87, the devoted and forever-loving wife of the late Steve Ritchie, stepped into eternal rest on September 9, 2025, where she was lovingly welcomed into the arms of those who went before her. Born in Lake Charles, LA on February 22, 1938, Lorraine carried a gentle strength and a kindness that left an unforgettable mark on every soul she encountered. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Steve, her son Curt Ritchie, her sons-in-law Mitchell Phoenix and Aaron Summer, her parents Jack and Francis Wright, and her siblings Betty Jean Soileau and Calvin Wright—a reunion in Heaven that surely brought joy to her loving spirit.
Those who remain feel her absence in a thousand quiet ways, yet her love continues to surround them. Lorraine leaves behind a family shaped by her warmth, her wisdom, and her unwavering devotion: her daughters Sharon Phoenix and Cathy Lynn Summer, her son Stevie Ritchie, her grandchildren Christina Phoenix, Kathleen Farmer, Aaron Summer III, Karon Malek, Jessica Summer, Joshua Summer and Jacob Summer, and her precious 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom carried a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her beloved siblings Thelma Wright Lozano and Robert Wright, along with a large circle of family and friends who will forever cherish her gentle presence, her soft words, and her loving embrace.
For over 28 years, Lorraine found strength, family, and spiritual purpose within the walls of Apostolic Temple Church, where she worshipped faithfully and built lifelong bonds. Her life was a living testimony to grace—quiet, steady, and full of love.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on December 14, 2025, from 1pm–4pm, where loved ones will gather not only to mourn her absence but to honor the incredible woman she was. At the conclusion of services, Lorraine’s final wishes will be honored with the dignity and tenderness she so deeply deserved.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave remains—alive in every heart she touched, every life she blessed, and every memory that brings warmth through the sorrow. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace, reunited with the ones she loved so dearly.
