Uncle Lou,dear Uncle Lou, is with Michael and Mickie ,Mary and Uncle Bill and others that I never met. That is good and heaven became an even better place with his presence. He lived a long and beautiful life and walked with grace and sweetness. My love and sympathy to all....and a special hug from Michael in heaven.

Louis A.'s Obituary

Wharton: Louis A. Pekarovich passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Pine Acres Nursing Home, Madison. He was 93 years of age.Louis was born to the late Stephen and Margaret Pekarovich (nee Mullarkey) in Bayonne on January 8, 1920. He lived in Wharton since 1964.He was a WWII Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion, Post 91 of Wharton.Mr. Pekarovich, also known by his professional name, Lou Baker, received his degree from Pace College in Accounting and was the former assistant administrator of Dover General Hospital. He also worked on the Hospital Association of NJ, Certificate of Need Committee.Lou was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wharton.Pre-deceased by his wife, Mickie in March of last year and his six siblings; Mary, Joseph, Johnny, Steve, Jimmy & Billy.Survived by his two daughters:Paula Stafford and husband George of Wharton.Ruth Pekarovich Velte and husband Dennis of Boulder, Colorado and Princeville, Hawaii.Three Grandchildren:Tara Stafford DeTore and husband Charles.Sarah Karr.George P. Stafford and wife Rebecca.Two Great Granddaughters: Abigail and Amelia DeToreAlso survived by his niece Sharon Elliott Caldwell and husband Peter.Visitation will be held 3-5 & 7-9pm on Monday, June 10 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.A Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday 9am from the funeral home to a 10AM Mass at St. Mary's Church, Wharton.Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, E. Hanover.In lieu of flowers, donations in Lou's memory to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
