Louis's Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Aldape, 78, who left uspeacefully on February 26. Louis was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Louis, better known as Louie, was born on July 16, 1946, in Aransas Pass where he was raised and graduated high school from. Immediately after, he joined the US ARMY serving in the Vietnam War until 1968. He took on different jobs in different towns before finding his role in which he would be known as, “the mailman.” Louie spent his prime years delivering more than just letters—he brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to those on his route. His friendly presence was a daily comfort to many, making him not just a mail carrier but a cherished part of countless lives.

Beyond his career, Louie had a passion for music. He was a talented bass player in his younger years who performed alongside his brother and cousins in a band called the Rocking Dominoes, creating memories filled with rhythm and joy.

Louie is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Maria (Martinez) Aldape Sr.,daughter Patricia Aldape, sisters Pauline Aldape & Eleanor (Gilbert) Hernandez of Aransas Pass.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter Stephanie Aldape (Larry) from Ingleside Texas, son Luis Aldape of Houston Texas, sister Mary (Joe) Adame ofAransas Pass, brothers Domingo Jr (Maggie) of Aransas Pass, Vicente (Sue) of Hudson Florida, Juan (Linda) of Valinda California, and Albert Aldape of Colorado Springs Colorado. Along with 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louie’s legacy of kindness, music, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his laughter, his stories, and the love he shared.
