Bernice, Tim & Family. We express our deepest sympathy to all of you. I remember when Louie came to Coplay in our shared classroom at St. Peter's. He was always a friendly guy all his life. Mrs. Tepes, Tim, and girls-I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Tepes. I enjoyed seeing him at basketball games and mass. Thinking of you all.

So sorry to read of Louie's passing. I was a neighbor of the Tepes family in Coplay. Condolences to the family.

Louis's Obituary

Louis J. Tepes Jr., 81, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Bernice S. (Marhefka), with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage this October. Born February 26, 1944, in Barnback, Austria, he was a son of the late Louis Sr. and Margaret (Stranzl) Tepes. Louis was the owner of Tepes Construction Co., Inc. He was very active in several professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the Lehigh Valley Builders Association. Louis received the PA Builder of the Year Award in 2007. He also had a passion for aviation, earning his pilot’s license and becoming a member of the Quiet Birdmen (QBs). Louis was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his son, Tim and wife, Lynn; granddaughters, Grace and Olivia; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Joseph. 

Services: A viewing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton and Monday, Sept. 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22nd St. and Washington Ave., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the Monday visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the church. Entombment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the church in Louis’ memory. Online condolences may be offered below.
