Louis's Obituary

LOUIS L. WEBB, born February 14, 1933, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age

of 92. A lifelong learner, educator, and dedicated servant to his country and community, Louis

leaves behind a legacy of purpose, heart, and quiet strength.

Louis was raised in Lexington, Kentucky, where he attended Russell Elementary and later

Dunbar High School. During his years at Dunbar, he was known not only for his character and

leadership but was also honored with the title of Mr. Dunbar upon graduation.

He continued his education at Kentucky State University before being drafted into the United

States Navy. After completing Navy basic training, Louis transferred to the United States Marine

Corps, where he proudly served his nation.

Following his military service, Louis felt a calling to education. He called to teach in the

mountains of Kentucky, sharing his passion for knowledge with students but, returned to his

alma mater, Dunbar High School, where he continued to inspire young minds with his dedication

and warmth teaching scince.

After many years of service in Lexington, he moved to Portsmouth, Ohio working there with

Good Year Chemical Company until his retirement.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Webb; his sisters Aliene, Ella Mae,

Mary (and the late Donald) Lee, Mildred (and the late Carrol) Hughes, and Hazel Stallard; and

his brothers Thomas Webb, Albert Webb, and Walter Webb.

He is survived by three sisters: Anna Webb-Simpson, Lucy Stallard, and Janice (William)

Hamilton, and brother in law George (and the late Hazel).

Louis gave his life to Christ at a young age and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in

Lexington, Kentucky.

Louis was loved by all who knew him. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who

cherished him deeply.
