Louise A. Wilkes

Louise A. Wilkes, 85 of Groton, died Thursday August 14, 2025, at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.  Louise was born June 4, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Stephen Manziak and Sophie Kolodziej Manziak.  She married Henry T. Wilkes; he preceded her in death on September 5, 2011.

Louise had a special talent for creating and producing dolls and doll clothes. Her dolls were in great demand at craft fairs throughout the area, known as Dolls by Louise.

She is survived by her son: Andrew Wilkes; daughters: Cassandra Wilkes and Juliana Rovero; two grandchildren:  David Rovero and Benjamin Rovero; and two great grandchildren: Willow Rovero and Anastasia Rovero.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday September 5, 2025, at the Starr Burying Ground, Lestertown Road in Groton.
