I've got so many fond memories of Tom and the Allison family getting together with the Ezell's during the holiday season. I remember our trips to Columbia and Atlanta spending time with Beth, Alvin, Luther as we're growing up. Tom always made it a fun trip to look forward to...whether it being a sleep-in in the pop-up caravan in the garage or all of us piling in the big Ford wagon for a kids road trip! Luther Thomas “Tom” Allison, Jr, age 87, of Stockbridge, died Monday, September 3, 2018. He was born in Hall County, GA to the late Luther Thomas Allison, Sr. and Hester Breedlove Allison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Chapman. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, Mr. Allison retired after 39 years with Graybar Electric Company.
Mr. Allison is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary; children, Beth Whitlock and future son-in-law, Steven Brown, Alvin (Debbie) Allison, and Luther (Kay) Allison; five grandchildren, Dr. Mary Catherine Whitlock and Erin, Thomas, Ben, and Andrew Allison.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Valerie Loner officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jonesboro First United Methodist Church, 142 S. Main Street, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
