Luz's Obituary

Luz Olga Saenz, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away after struggling with pulmonary fibrosis on May 7, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born on December 31, 1957, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, Olga was the daughter of Domingo & Ana Navarrete.  She grew up in Ojinaga and married in 1979 to Jorge H Saenz.  They moved to Midland, Texas, in 1980, where together they built a family and raised 2 children, Jorge Jr. & Ann Mary, who will forever be grateful for her love and support.

Olga had a passion and dedicated her whole life to helping raise and take care of her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She also took care of many children, whom she loved dearly, and who referred to her as “Mama Olga.”

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jorge Saenz. Son Jorge Saenz, Jr, wife Erica Saenz, kids Isabella & Eliana, Jayde and Luciano.  Daughter Ann Saenz Estrada and husband Omar Estrada, kids Yovani and wife Giselle, Omar, Fabian, and Marianna. Siblings Arturo Navarrete, Javier Navarrete, Ruben Navarrete, Consuelo Gonzales, and Maria Navarrete, along with numerous relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Domingo & Ana Navarrete, beloved sister Irma Navarrete, and her little brother Jose Navarrete. 

A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home & Chapel located at 405 N. Terrell, Midland, Texas 79701 with viewing starting at 12:00 on Sunday, May 11, 2025 following a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Mass celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2025 at San Miguel Archangel Catholic Church located at 1100 Camp Street, Midland Texas 79701 with Father Patrick Akpanobong officiating. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons: Yovani Saenz, Omar Estrada, Fabian Estrada, Luciano Martinez nephews Jonathan Valenzuela & Raul Navarrete and brother in laws Nahum Saenz and Cesar Saenz.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Dr P.K. Patel for his care throughout the years, nurses and staff at Midland Memorial Hospital that showed their patience and nurturing care along with Encompass Rehabilitation and numerous family and friends that helped with her care these last few months.
