Mrs. Lydia Beck Berry, 93, widow of Woodrow Berry, of Mullins, passed away at her home in Mullins, surrounded by her loving friends, during the mid-afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, 2025, under the supportive care of Patriot Hospice.
Mrs. Berry was born in Nurmberg, Germany on August 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Fritz and Anna Beck. She met Woodrow during his deployment to Germany, fell in love and accompanied him back to America where they married, built a home in his hometown of Mullins, and spent 47 wonderfully married years together. Ms. Lydia was a homemaker, where she indulged in making their home perfect, especially with her favorite color pink. She loved entertaining her friends who often spent time at their house, she developed many close friendships throughout the years. She loved to crochet and do word search puzzles. She adored animals. One of her favorite things to do was to go out to lunch or supper, whether with Woodrow or her friend group. She was particularly fond of T-Roy’s, Jimmy B’s and Margaret’s Lounge as her culinary getaways. Mrs. Berry was a godly lady and she worshiped daily. She attended Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church where she loved the congregation as her own family, and they loved her back tenfold.
