I am so sorry to hear of Lynda's passing. I met Lynda many years ago working together as kids at McDonald's in Dorchester. We had so much fun together as a group. Lynda and I reconnected on facebook over the past several years and she was still the same sweet and kind person that I remember from those years ago. My condolences to her family during this sad time. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

On January 9th, 2025, Lynda Marie Ficarra was placed in God’s care after a long battle with celiac and liver disease. Lynda was born on May 5th, 1968, to Cornelia and Jack Gill in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Raised in Dorchester, Lynda graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School and went on to attend Aquinas Junior College, where she began her career as a legal assistant. She was often recognized for her strong work ethic and ability to type over 100 words per minute. In her earlier years, Lynda was described as an adrenaline junkie, often participating in adventurous activities such as bungee jumping, skiing, and cliff diving. Friends and family found her sense of humor, kindness, and bubbly personality infectious. After 10 years with her high school sweetheart, Lynda married Steven Ficarra in 1994. Years later they gave birth to their two daughters, Corinne and Gillian. After the passing of Steven Ficarra in 2004, she moved to Tempe, Arizona, where she later married Timothy Farnon and raised her two daughters. Lynda was a loving, immensely strong, hardworking, and caring mother who always described her girls as her whole world. If there was one thing that was obvious to others, it was her overflowing and unconditional love for them. She was a mother figure and amazing friend to so many others through her hospitality and her ability to make anyone feel welcome with open arms and a stomach full of food! If there was one word that could describe Lynda Ficarra, it would be strength. Despite the trials and tribulations of life and her battle with health, she always said every time she woke up, she thanked God for another day here on Earth.
While we all mourn the presence of Lynda, the light that she carried and the love she gave remain imprinted on our hearts. “You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Timothy Farnon; daughters Corinne and Gillian Ficarra; mother, Cornelia (Connie) Gill; siblings Mary Gill Merna and John Gill; godmother to Ricky Merna; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, sibling-in-laws, and dear friends.
