Mother Lynnie Coleman was born on November 9, 1940, in Fairday, Louisiana, to the late Minerva Walker and Leo Stevenson. Throughout her illness, Lynn remained steadfast in her faith. She fought the good fight with exceptional courage, grace, and an unshakable trust in God. On November 8, 2025, she made her peaceful transition from labor to reward, surrounded by love.
She was educated in the Alaskan School System where she completed her high school years and began cultivating the strong work ethic and gentle spirit that would define her life. Upon relocating to Detroit, Michigan, Lynn became a devoted member of Solomon's Temple Church, where she faithfully served the Lord. Her anointed and powerful singing voice ushered in the presence of the Holy Spirit and blessed all who heard her.
Lynn dedicated 32 years of service to General Motors, a place where she built lifelong friendships and where she met the love of her life, James Coleman. Their marriage was a testimony of love, unity, and partnership.
Lynn was the proud mother of one son, Keith Stevenson, and the cherished bonus daughter, Cynthia Boykin (Saketo Boykin Sr.). She also embraced her daughter-in-love, Tracey Stevenson, with the same warmth and affection. She took great joy in her grandchildren: Taylor Stevenson, Saketo Boykin Jr., and Josh Boykin. Lynn also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved special niece, Katina Howard, and her devoted special nephew, Larry Nix, along with a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
Mother Lynn will lie in repose on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Solomon Temple Church 2341 Seven Mile Road E. Detroit, MI. Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will promptly start at 11:00am. Interment will follow after the service at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, MI.
