Services for Mr. M.V. Kinder, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Dr. B. David Brooks and Dr. Cliff Stuart officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

 

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

 

Mr. Kinder, 91, of Alexandria passed from this life, Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence.

 

M.V. was born on August 10, 1925 to Martin V. Kinder, Sr. and Bertha Sisk Kinder in Mount Holly, Arkansas. As a young man, M.V. served in the Navy during World War II. After his return, he met and married the love of his life, Melvine Pickett Kinder. He then began a successful paint contracting business. In 1966 he continued on with his dream of owning and operating a paint store, which is known today as Kinder Paint Company. He continued his work at Kinder Paint Company until the time of his death.

 

During his life, he enjoyed many years of bowling, old western movies but most of all his work. His true passion was his work at Kinder Paint Company. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Melvine Pickett Kinder; parents, Martin V. Kinder, Sr. and Bertha Sisk Kinder; brothers, Melvin Kinder, Bill Kinder; sisters, Marcella Price and Christine Kinder.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, John Kinder and wife, Gayle, R. Bruce Kinder and wife, Carol; daughter, Barbara Bankson and husband, Bobby; brother, Gene Kinder; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

 

Pallbearers will be Ryan Kinder, Steve Kinder, Tyler Kinder, Keith Belle, Clay Bankson, and Jeff Bankson.

 

The family would like to express a special thanks to Aime Hospice Care and the ladies of Direct Care Services.

 

The family request memorial donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 5011 Jackson Street, Alexandria, LA 71303.
